National Heart Truth Awareness!
Every day can be wear red day!

Deckerville Community Hospital is encouraging everyone to participate in National Wear Red Day, and by taking part, you will greatly enhance the efforts of The Heart Truth campaign to improve awareness of women and their risk for heart disease.

The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign aimed at giving women a personal and urgent wake-up call that heart disease is their Number 1 health threat. The centerpiece of the campaign is the Red Red DressDress – the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. What’s a Red Dress got to do with it? A simple Red Dress works as a visual red alert to get the message heard loud and clear: “Heart Disease doesn’t Care What You wear – It’s the #1 Killer of Women.” Sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Human Services, the campaign is reaching women with important heart health message through a diverse network of national grassroots partner organizations. More information is found of the web at www.hearttruth.gov.

Please join and help us spread the word. Red Dress pins are available at Deckerville Hospital for just $1.00. The pin is a small tie-tac design, so men can wear them too! Your support will send a clear message to residents of the Deckerville and even Sanilac County area that women’s heart health is not only important to women, but is also important to their husbands, their families and to their communities. Ask about your Red Dress pin today.
